ADR 3 – Flammable liquids – UN1203 – petrol — purpose and selection
ADR 3 – Flammable liquids – UN1203 – petrol in 100x120mm format is a self-adhesive marking for preparing packages containing appropriately classified goods. The clear design helps identify the hazard during packing, dispatch and warehouse handling. It is intended for businesses that need consistent markings for successive batches of shipments.
The class 3 design identifies the hazard associated with flammable liquids. Combining the symbol and UN number on one product helps prepare repeated shipments of the same goods without selecting a separate number sticker.
The complete label measures 100x120mm: the hazard panel is 100x100mm and the UN number panel 100x20mm. Combining both elements on one label makes them easier to apply together and keeps package markings organised.
Select the label according to the classification of the goods, transport documentation and relevant safety data sheet information where applicable. A commercial product name alone does not establish the complete set of markings required. Before ordering, compare the design, number and dimensions with the requirements for the particular package. The label identifies a specific hazard; it does not replace other markings, documents or correct shipment preparation.
Where and how to apply the labels
Use these labels at packing stations, dispatch preparation points or warehouses handling appropriately classified goods. Position the label where its entire text and symbol will remain visible. Plan its location before closing the carton or container so that tape, wrapping film, straps or address labels do not cover it. The stated size refers to a package label and should not automatically be treated as suitable for a vehicle placard.
Remove dust, moisture and contamination from the chosen surface before application. Separate the label from its backing and press it down evenly, including the edges. Test adhesion on unfamiliar, rough or difficult surfaces. Durability also depends on the packaging and the conditions of storage and transport. Do not cover existing information that is still needed to identify or handle the shipment.
Before dispatch, check:
- that the design and any UN number match the goods documentation,
- that the whole marking remains legible after the package is closed and secured,
- that the label adheres properly without lifting corners,
- that all additional markings required for the shipment are present.
Print&Stick quality and everyday handling
Print&Stick is a European manufacturer of self-adhesive labels. This product is made from self-adhesive paper with a permanent acrylic adhesive and a UV varnish finish. This combination supports a consistent presentation and everyday packing work. A paper label must still be matched to the surface and intended conditions of use; the varnish alone does not make it suitable for unlimited immersion or every outdoor environment.
Each roll contains 500 labels. The roll format makes individual labels easy to take and helps maintain a supply at the workstation. Separate rolls can be assigned to different packing lines or picking areas to reduce the risk of choosing the wrong marking. Store them so that the printed surface, backing and edges are protected against contamination and accidental damage.
When reordering, compare the product code and artwork image. This helps maintain the same marking version across deliveries, especially when your business uses similar labels with different numbers or additional wording. If you need a customised print, contact us before ordering to discuss the required information.
